Florida Crew Alumni Association (“us”, “we”, “our”, “Association”) operates http://floridacrewalumni.com
(“the Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of
Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.
We are committed to meeting and exceeding all relevant international, federal, and state laws and
industry guidelines regarding your personal information and how it is protected.
Please note that privacy laws differ widely between countries and, within countries, between states and
smaller jurisdictions. Because the association members or non-members may reside anywhere, and
because the Site may be accessed from anywhere in the world, we will follow the strictest possible
rules. This Privacy Policy has been updated in accordance with the requirements of the European
Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”).
In the context of the GDPR, The Association shall be considered to be the Data Controller and the Data
Processor.
This Privacy Policy applies only to this site and the functionality and services provided by the
association. The Site may contain links to other websites not controlled by the Association and the
policies and procedures described herein do not apply to these other websites.
Note also that privacy laws and regulations are continually evolving and this Privacy Policy may be
modified at any time to account for new and stricter provisions. Your continued membership in the
Association and/or your continued use of the site, whether as a member or non-member, confirms your
agreement to abide by the provisions of the current Privacy Policy.
We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree
to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information Collection And Use
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that
can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited
to your name, contact information (postal address, email address, phone number), demographic data
(date of birth, age, sex, etc.) college affiliation, etc. (“Personal Information”).
The Association uses this information to provide services to the organization, to provide services for
members, to maintain accurate and complete financial records, to fulfill our legal obligations in
accordance with laws pertaining to non-profits, to promote the association in the general community, to
strengthen and grow the organization, to communicate with you about news and activities, and to
advocate for issues that are important to members.
You have the right to cancel your relationship with the association at any time, and to have your data
removed from the site and data repositories, subject to the organization’s rights to maintain accurate and
complete records of its operations and responsibilities as a not for profit organization.
The Association may choose to make certain user information (generally limited to your name but, in
some cases, also showing contact information and photographic data) visible on the public side of its
website, available to anyone who visits the site. This information may include, but is not limited to:
• Your membership in a committee, interest group, or chapter
• Your registration for an event
• Your registration for a volunteering activity
• Publicly available photos or photos submitted by our community
• Your participation in a Member or Business Directory
Data collected and stored by the Association may be disclosed based on legal requirements of any
jurisdiction that has authority. This disclosure can include but is not limited to a court order, subpoena or
any international, federal, state or local laws or regulations that apply.
Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site
(“Log Data”).
This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address,
browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the
time spent on those pages and other statistics.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze
this information in order to maximize the effectiveness of the Site. We utilize meta data to provide a
better experience for any visitor to the Site as well as make it more appealing to potential donors.
The Association may share information with service providers and vendors that help us run the site,
including hosting the computers on which the platform runs, merchant processing companies to handle
credit card payments, address verification and geocoding services, Google Analytics for traffic and
usage intelligence, and consultants that help us secure, maintain, and enhance the site in different ways.
This information sharing will be strictly limited only to what is necessary for the vendor to perform its
service(s) and said vendors and service providers are subject to strict contractual and confidentiality
obligations barring them from using it for any other purposes.
The Association will maintain data relating to your membership or activities with the Site in a reasonably
secure manner as a means to facilitate your use of the Site as well as maintain proper records as require
by law and regulation. Request for deletion of any data relating to your personal information may be sent
to [email protected]. We will review you request and delete your personal information if not
compelled by law or regulation to retain the information. Allow a up to 20 days for deletion of all data.
Communications
We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional
materials and other information that can provide you with up to date information regarding the
Association’s activities. We will send information that we believe will be valuable to you and allow you to
opt out if you so desire.
We will not sell or transfer your information to any other organization to contact you on our behalf. We
will not allow access to your personal information to any member, organization, or individual that is not
directly related to facilitating a request from you.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies
are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.
Like many sites, we use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all
cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not
be able to use some portions of the Site.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of
transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use
commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute
security.
The Association uses an independent third party hosting organization. While we have gone to great
lengths to select an organization that we are comfortable with providing top-notch security and data
integrity, the Association assumes no liability for breaches that occur due to third party security
vulnerabilities.
The site is intended for Florida crew alumni and friends and is not intended for unsupervised access by
minors. We will not knowingly collect information from site visitors that are not of age. While we have no
content that would be deemed unacceptable for minors, our content is intended for a college graduate
aged individual. We encourage parents to talk to their children about their use of the Internet and the
information they disclose online
Changes To This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is effective as of 09/15/2020 and will remain in effect except with respect to any
changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this
page.
We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this
Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the
Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to
abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by placing a notice on our
website.
